Watercraft Services
BlackFish is a Prime Contractor in SeaPort NxG, GSA’s ASTRO Multiple Award Schedule Maritime Pool, and U.S. Army Watercraft Inspection Branch; and is a member of the Huntington Ingalls Industries’ Army Watercraft Sustainment Program Zone 3 contract team. BlackFish watercraft services include:
Maintenance
We provide preventive Maintenance Checks and Services (PMCS) and repairs: diesel mechanical, welding, air conditioning and refrigeration (AC&R), and electrical components. This includes tune-ups or shipboard rebuild and removing the equipment and reinstalling it after factory repairs are completed.
Program and Records Management
We have created databases to keep track of boatyard and port-side repairs, including dollars spent, long lead time parts, On-Condition Cycle Maintenance dates, and annual operational certificates. These provide tracking of ongoing boatyard repairs, cost, and delays for each vessel.
Marine Surveyor Services
Surveyors go into the boatyards and conduct daily checks and painting and electronic inspections.
Budgeting and Long-range Planning
We determine yearly budgets and spare parts inventory levels and produce seven-year maintenance projections.
Service Life and Depot Standards
Our team creates depot-level maintenance standards used in boatyards and rewrites manuals for use in addressing boatyard requirements.
Boatyard Contracting Support
We provide lead contract writers for vessels undergoing Service Life Extension Program (SLEP) and compile specification item cost estimates which become the foundation for judging a bidding contractor’s offer.
Foreign Military Sales
Our team prepares for transfer: condition, location, and owning unit. Once sale is approved, we update the database and maintenance schedule and track until removed from inventory.
